PRESENTING / public art
Methow Arts collaborates with artists, organizations,
local businesses and schools in the Methow Valley
to develop quality public art, adding value
and interest to public parks, trails and buildings.

Methow Valley Elementary School students worked with artists Laura Ruud and Kathleen Briley
to create this glass mosaic on the Winthrop Post Office. The mural, which represents
the cycle of fire in regional forests was made possible by a partnership between
Methow Arts, Methow Valley Elementary, the Methow Valley Public School Funding Alliance,
and the Methow Ranger District/ National Forest Service.
Methow Arts has developed over thirty permanent art works in public places in the past ten years through student/artist collaborations, professional artist commissions and community art projects. These public art pieces represent the talent and vision of local artists for all members of the community to enjoy.
